If you know anyone interested in buying a beautiful house in Orlando, FL, please let me know.
Right now we’re experiencing the coldest temperature I’ve seen in Orlando since I’ve moved here. It’s 31F, but due to the wind chill, it feels like 22… Mickey Mouse and friends must be freezing! I know I am!
Here is the Freeze Warning from Weather.com:
THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED EARLY THURSDAY MORNING WITH LOWS REACHING THE MID TO UPPER 20S. A LONG DURATION OF BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED…WITH TEMPERATURES REMAINING BELOW 32 DEGREES FOR UP TO 8 TO 10 HOURS…AND BELOW 28 DEGREES FOR UP TO 4 TO 6 HOURS…ESPECIALLY IN THE RURAL AREAS.
THE HARD FREEZE WARNING MEANS TEMPERATURES BELOW 28 DEGREES ARE POSSIBLE FOR SEVERAL HOURS OR GREATER. THESE CONDITIONS CAN KILL SENSITIVE VEGETATION AS WELL AS HARM EXPOSED WATER PIPES AS WELL AS SMALL ANIMALS LEFT OUTDOORS WITHOUT SHELTER.
Finally, we’ve decided to do the move ourselves, driving a Penske truck instead of hiring a moving company. This will be the true moving adventure!
Departure date: January , 2008…
Andreina took home the 3rd place in the Mixed Media category of the Lake Mary Heathrow Festival of the Arts, which started today and goes on until tomorrow, Sunday at 5 pm.
We had the great company of Edgard and Loly late in the day (and Camila and Riley earlier): it meant a lot for us! We are super-happy: this is her first outdoors art festival!!
Check out a slideshow with photos of the booth setup and moments throughout the day.
If you cannot make it tomorrow, you can always visit Evolve Art Studio (Andreina’s web site), through which you can check out her work and order some originals and a number of limited edition fine prints.
If there’s one cool perk of living in Central Florida it’s gotta ben that we get first row seats to all the Space Shuttle launches.
Today, we got a chance to enjoy the launch of Discovery, at 11:38 EST. It was just like the first time. I still remember when I first saw Columbia fly back in the day… Geez!! I sound like an old fart, don’t I?
This is kinda exciting in a hard-to-explain way:

Andreina just called me to tell me that the storm made our GRILL FLY! The photo above I took on 06/14 (the morning after the storm): it shows a tree across the street, by my office.

We went for a bike ride over by Lake Monroe (Sanford, FL). This is the first and most likely last time we’ll be visiting that neck of the woods.
The ride was not that great, in all honesty: according to the Seminole County official map there should have already been a piece of bike trail in existence since 2005… I don’t know where it was, because we rode a good 45 minutes round trip and the only thing there was for bikes was a tiny space by the side of the road.
Besides that, there was quite a smell of fish by the lakeside… I mean fish as in PUAJJJJ!! Not fish, as in “Oh! It smells like sea water!” or something…
But the BEST part of all was the swarm of lovebugs we rode our bikes and the car through. In the picture you can see the result of the lovebug attack. Luckily, I was able to get it back to normal after a good water hosing and scrubbing.
